Today we welcomed 27 children from Kiettisack International School. The 5-6 year olds had the opportunity to discover the world of aviation. Activities varied from sitting in a real aircraft, sorting screws and other interesting things needed for aircraft maintenance, using a wrench on an aircraft wheel, and seeing a real flight simulator while a pilot was flying it.

Among all these new experiences was the excitement of watching various aircraft taking off and landing at Wattay International Airport.

There was also time for playing. The children rolled real airplane tires. They made paper airplanes and tested them to see how far they could fly. Altogether a day of exploring, excitement, and fun with lots of new experiences.

New experiences can open minds to new dreams. It’s possible that the seed of a dream of a career in aviation began to grow in one of those young minds today.

Using wrenches to get a little taste of what a mechanic needs to do when working on the wheel of an aircraft.
